Coffins-Demo

Okay, ive been out of the system for a while, and doubt theres a better day to refresh you punks out there with some metal flavoured cookie on a new years eve.Have no idea if its the right moment for it,but, here it goes;Coffins is a japanese death metal quartet formed around 96 in Tokyo.Gave a thought that some crusties out there might appreciate this since this band aint just about playing evil death metal, these guys have inducted some really nice doom suff inside the tunes, and when you add the drumer from .com and vocals from G.A.T.E.S. youll think that this is the long lost evil older brother of Stormcrow. Now about the release. This is not their first demo, the first one was released in 2000.On this piece of art,you get great growling vocals, which sound like they have a woofer or something attached to em,punishing drums, that give awesome crust feeling to the thing, and the guitar plus bass just drives you to the grave, like a true death metal boy scout would do.Need to mention that the whole thing lasts for around 17 mins, but, youll know when its over. And,last but not least, there is another release of this demo with 2 more tracks.Headbanging crusties

Dakhma-2012 Demo cd (2008)

Dakhma were a crust band from Praha, Czech Republic, they released a demo in 2008 and called it quits. You can listen the demo in their myshit and is also available for downloading in their blog. The cover artwork, the demo title and the gloomy feeling of music create an apocalyptic crust storm: Dakhma delivers emotional and heavy crust with gloomy melodies, heavy and thick guitar riffs with a few black metal hints, desperate screamed vocals and mid to fast pace beat with slower emotional parts. The vocalist has strong voice and sings in his native language the dark rhymes describing the alienation of human beings, there is English translation in their myspace (also printed here), sound quality is dissent. Nice demo that has power, melody and aggression in perfect ballance, they stand close to Oroku, Fall of Effrafa (Owsla era) and other emotional crust acts. Sadly they called it a day and members now are active in bands such as Lakmé,(cool band too with a nice demo), AbstinentiA, Gattaca and Kung-Fu Girls, they also run a small distro.

Corrodead-promo demo

Corrodead is a new band from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada and was formed by members of Decontrol and Iskra, they have recorded four tracks that are available in their myspace and are going to release a four track promo demo in tape format during the next month.
And if Skagos reveals the black metal and ambient-ish side of Iskra members then Corrodead is the metallic crust side in a slower version of Iskra: Guitars have Iskra 's sound and deliver thrashing metal riffs with some nice leading parts while rhythm section has slow down the beat and bring mostly mid paced parts. Vocals are screamed and brutal and tracks are a bit log: three tracks last over five minutes and the total running time is nearly twenty minutes. The sound quality is excellent and guitars have thick and heavy sound.
Great stuff from a promising band. Future plans include a split ep with deathsters Mortillery from Alberta plus a soon announced release.

Aktiv Dödshjälp-En tid av smärta och förnedring (2005)

Aktiv Dödshjälp is a blackened crust band from Finspång, Sweden, they formed around 2004 and their first demo was Allt Hopp e Ute, En tid av smärta och förnedring is their second demo, recorded in '05 and released by Chased by Fear. Aktiv Dödshjälp means active euthanasia and their music is a lethal sonic weapon: En tid av smärta och förnedring is a six track cd-r and delivers nine minutes of Bombstrike and Skitsystem's crustcore mixed with the swedish death metal of At the Gates. Vocals are high pitched screeches and brutal, metal riffs appear here and there, songs move mostly in fast pace, sound is dissent. Brutal as fuck. In 2007 Halvkass Produktion re-released En tid av.. with new artwork, remixed tracks and a new opening intro.
thats the rant, now get it, merry Crustmas to everyone

Eminent Scum-demo 2009

These guys and girl come from Oslo, Norway. They started out winter 2008 as a black metal band called Discunt with Adi (bass), Erling (guitar-vox) and Mathias (drumz), they soon figured slow paced black metal was boring and under diffuse circumstances Sean was taken in on drums, thus changing the beat to vicious hardcore punk. Soon the need for a sovereign singer arose, and May was recruited to the band, proving to be an kick ass asset! Then the name was changed, songs were made, beer was drank and here it is; Eminent Scum...
This is a fresh new demo and despite they started as a black metal band there are not any black metal hints here: The six tracks they deliver is a raw piece of angry anarcho-hardcore in the vein of Armistice with shouted female vocals, hard pounding rhythm section full of energy and guitar riffs full of wrath. Tracks are short and hardly last over two minutes each, May sings in English, there are some male backing vocals, the sound is raw and unmixed but still delivers the wrath. Nice effort full of power and energy, wait for more by them

En el Abismo-demo 2008

Heavy as fuck and emotional crust with metal influences: En el Abismo come from the state of Yucatán, Mexico and this is their three track demo recorded in 2008. I don't know anything about them, their myspace has some text in Spanish but no any information about them and announces the release of a split cd with National Disasters, if you come from Mexico don't hesitate to write some shit and enlighten us
The demo consists of three tracks that last about twenty two minutes, the structure of each song is complicated, there are many parts and acoustic intros are followed by metallic riffs with dark melodies that have a depressive feeling in mid pace tempos that vary all the time from slower to a bit faster and back to slow or acoustic etc. Vocals are screamed , rhythm section makes great work, bass and drums have clear sound while the sound quality is very good. This is a crust journey into the realms of Fall of Efrafa, really excellent demo, i hope they will deliver some more recordings

Deadfall-demo 2001

Deadfall was born in 2001 in San Francisco/Oakland and released a couple of ep's and appeared in several compilations. This is their five track demo recorded in 2001 and delivers raw old school hardcore in the vein of Poison Idea, Minor Threat ect and not much different to the tunes Deadfall are known for. Now they seem to called it a day, Six Weeks Rec.s released their discography in Mass Descruction cd, some of their old releases are available in Tankcrimes
That was the short fart, now go get it

Shaid-Demo CD 2008

Shaid is a five member assembly, coming from the French city of Nancy,Lorraine. This is their demo recording, self released on a CD format with two cover versions. Now this isnt the usual stuff frenchies would do,so i'd say that you shouldn't expect excellence from this guys, but hey,you got to appreciate some grind crust every now and then. This is Disrupt mixed with Massgrave with some small PV dirts on the tunes. This 9 track demo was released in 2008,and is being followed by a new LP release put out this year, played in the same manner with a bit sharper sound.Weed smokers and grinders wearing Doom patches on their jacket will enjoi this playing in the background while having a morning beer!! French kissing!

Abysmal Fornikate-Demo 2009 (highly recomented)

Yeah!this is the perfect blending of Fall of Effrafa with Schifosi and From Ashes Rise! Abysmal Fornikate is a five piece act (four guys and one girl), they come from Malaysia and deliver an amazing blending of Fall of Effrafa's emotional parts with the melodies of Tragedy, Remains of the Day and the likes. They formed in 2008 and sometime in the end of year/beginning of '09 they recorded two lenghty songs that last for about fifteen minutes, these tracks were released in February '09 (during the DIY femme fest gig in Malaysia) in a limited to only 50 copies demo. I can't find words to describe this, this is a hidden treasure and much better than what i expected: Acoustic and slow emotional parts are followed by faster crust outbreaks with gloomy melodies and screamed vocals, and then the band slows down the beat for another emotional part and then speeds on and on. Despite the six and eight minutes of each song the result is not boring at all: Guitar riffs and dark melodies and rhythm changes make it really interesting. The sound quality is dissent and appopriate but the band was not satisfied with it and decided not to print more copies of the demo.
Check their myspace and their blog, both tracks (re-recorded) plus four new songs will appear in their next release

Discrumt-Gnosis (cdr,2008)

Discrumt hail from from Pennsylvania, USA and Gnosis is a cd-r released in 2008, they formed in 2005 and their discog is Refusing To Conform To Your Norms ep (2006), Gnosis (2008) and Ornithic (2009), they also appeared in a couple of compilations.
Gnosis delivers ten tracks of a raw blending of 80's anarcho-punk with a few crustpunk elements. There is this 80's punk feeling in guitar's raw sound, the rhythm section creates emotional backbone for each song and bass and drums rule all the time with a trace of experimental punk, the sound quality is dissent anda bit raw, the shouted vocals have a haunting feeling and lyrics move in the same pessimistic pathway

Nagasaki Nightmare-Demo 2004

This is DIY dark crust from Italy: Nagasaki Nightmare formed around 2004 and this is a '04 recording delivering four tracks of dark and emotional crust. The sound is raw and harsh, actually these tracks come from a rehearsal recording so there is no space for bad review or whatever since the bad sound quality doesn't allow the band to reveal the real abilities. never mind, give it a listening, two demo tracks appear in their split lp w Contrasto (2006), they also have a split lp with Blunt

Asocial Terror Fabrication-Demo Tape 2009

Asocial Terror Fabrication is a 4 piece crasher crust outfit coming from, where else, but Japan.Formed around 2007,the band now consists of people who previously have played,or still are, playing in acts as Exclude,Abysstyx, and Krossa.Think you know what can you expect by people who play crust in the empire of the sun, this is Doom worship thing with Sore Throat mixed in the way,and add the flavour that,Life, maybe has.Final word is i think, you can add this demo tape alongside Isterismo and Kriegshog. This is theyre selfreleased demo tape with 5 tracks on it,put out this year, and if you want to score coppies of this,it's been distributed by Damaging Noise records in the states. So the verdict on this is,if you are a nervous guy as much as i am,you will, find this demo quite amusing and enjoyable.Puncture youre eardrums!!

Projek Babi-demo 2009

This is raw D-beat from Indonesia: There is no much information on their myspace, members come from Jakarta, Banden and Bandung, incl. one guy from Zudas Krust. They formed in 2009, they adore Disclose and Japanese noise crust but they believe Discharge were lame and bored shit. The demo was recorded sometime this year, it brings four short tracks that last for about four minutes and deliver absolute Disclose worship. That says it all and its needless to say anything else, go get some raw shit
