Afterbirth-America uber alles

Afterbirth come from Edinburgh,Scotland,UK and include members of Sawn Off, Social Insecurity and Beergut. They started in 2002 as a side project and they have released a split 7" w the Scotish crusties Filthpact from Aberdeen in 2003, the "Robots of Death" demo mc/cd in 2004 and "Your Gods Vomit In Disgust" lp in 2006 . Soon a brand new lp titled Prophecies of Doom is going to come out by a bunch of labels
America uber alles is a ten track tape/cd demo, this is their first demo recorded in 2003,some of these tracks appear in their other releases. They deliver heavy crust with some metal hints here and there plus some grindcore moments. Vocals are brutal and hoarse, the sound quality is good and the intro or titles like AmericaUber Alles of Burning the Reichstag set things clear about the lyrics: The band deals with war on terror and imperialism of USA. This is a really good demo, hunt down their other releases.

VA-Asian Crust vol 1:Indonesia

This is a web compilation (and not an actual release) inspired by Papst's Bloodstains Across Myspace: It took some time and effort but finally the work is complete: This is a compilation with bands coming from Indonesia covering an era from mid 90's to the recent days : There are 40 bands covering the most of punk/hc subgenres: Crust, hardcore, street punk, raw punk,d-beat dis-crust, grindcore, metallic crust and most of them are into the crusty side of things. All bands were found through Myshit, i wish i could add some more bands here but the Mb's are already too many so i had to stop adding more and more...
I know absolutely nothing about the bands, if they are chaos punx or political aware or whatever, you will find more about Indonesian scene from Pam, former Runtah singer and currently in a band called Apokalips, this is taken from an interview for "We are Gonna Fight it" zine (2008, France), the guy seems to be cool and thoughtful and explains the situation in the scene and gives some information about the country in some crucial topics such as religion, government's corruption, freedom of speech etc

Warpriest-Demo

I know only a few about these crusties: Warpriest were a crust band from Baltimore,Maryland,USA and this is their three track demo recorded sometime in 2007/08. It consists of 6:30" of dark and aggressive d-beat crustcore with down tuned guitars and brutal vocals. Imagine a blending of World Burns to Death's Hellhammer driven crust of Totalitarian Sodomy era with Swedish bands such as Wolfbrigade. Then add some Hiatus or Nuclear Death Terror in their demo tape and you got Warpriest. There are some metal traces in the d-beat hell and a few slower and emotional parts here and there but the band moves mostly in the usual d-beat high speed, lyrics included in a insert. In 2008 they released "Archaic revival" 12" on Streetcleaner and despite the fact of a nice release with positive reviews they seem to called it quits since in their myshit they say they broke up.

Hellstorm-Demo 2009 (highly recomented)

This is one of the best if not the best of all crust demos i recently listened. Hellstorm is a new band from Greece and this is their first recorded material and in an amazing way they deliver some awesome tunes much better than what you would expect from an unknown crust band: This is D-Beat crust at its finest: The familiar crust landscapes of blackened skies, radiation clouds, innocent victims of war and darkening future are here created by the crust assault of four tracks along with the lyrical Armageddon. There are two fast tracks delivering dis-crust hell and two mid-paced with acoustic intros reminding of Warcollapse. Some guitar solos appear here and there and work really nice, vocals are rough, lyrics deal with the usual crust topics, sound quality is excellent and the whole thing last for 14 minutes.Hope to see more stuff from these guys

Mistkafer-demo 2008

Brutal neo-crust from Spain:Mistkafer is a four piece all girl crust band from Zaragoza and this is their four track demo recorded in 2008. Disrupt, Detestation Wolfpack and His Hero is Gone are some of their influences. songs vary from fast to faster, imagine the raging crust of Derrota with the brutal distorted vocals of Divisions Ruin for 6:30" running time. Lyrics are in Spanish and sound quality is good.
thanks to Gallo, cheers

Second Guess-Demo 2008

Second Guess is a five piece crust band from Kitchener/Waterloo, Ontario Canada and this is their demo, released in autumn 0f 2008. No much infos on their myspace, in their last entry there they announce the recording of new material for an upcoming 7" but there is this "Second Guess are fucking dead" Did they call it quit?
The demo delivers five tracks of hardcore/crust and the band offers it for free. There is neither d-beat nor scandicore here but a crusty version of hardcore. Sound is raw, there are rough yelling vocals and heavy riffs from double guitar attack while rhythms are in the mid-paced to fast-paced.

Cancer Social-Preocupados Com O Caos (Demo 1995)

This was offered by Fernando Aquilini who runs Cause of Death zine blog: Cancer Social were from President Bernardes, Brazil. "Preocupados Com O Caos" was their demo tape recorded in 1995, ir delivers nine tracks of hardcore. The post in Cause of Death is in Portuguese so i can't understand what Fernando says, and from what i understand from babel translation is that the band was short lived.
Lyrics are Portuguese, the sound quality is in the usual levels of demo recordings:Noisy and raw

give it a try

Distroy-Demo 2006

Distroy come from the edge of the world: North Hobart is suburb north of the capital city of Tasmania. I knew Tasmania only from Tasmanian devil cartoon, i always believed this is an island somewhere in south Pacific ocean but never really cared where this place is, so when i saw this band coming from there i google'd it and i found an island south of Australia, in other words one of the last pieces of land before the end of the world and the frost continent of Antarctica..
The name is Distroy and not Destroy and they have not any relation with Distroy from Netherlands, The demo was recorded sometime in 2006 or '07, there are not much infos on the web about the band but there is this excellent review and interview in Distort zine #14, and can be found in Punks is Hippies.
The demo delivers six tracks and 7:30" running time of raw Discharge-d D-Beat hardcore/crust with fast and faster tempos and rough vocals, sound quality is raw and good enough to deliver anger and wrath.
Distroy also released a 7" on Trend Ender Records, a copy maybe can be found in Capitalicide distro

Empty Hands-demo 2009

I found this in a forum and sounded good, didn't know anything about these dudes and girls and a quick search revealed their myspace page but no much infos though. Empty hands is female fronted four piece crust act from Ontario, Canada. Their crust is in the vein of From Ashes Rise, Tragedy, His Hero is Gone etc. The demo delivers four tracks with the elements of the mentioned bands: Desperate screaming vocals from two girls sharing vocals duties, thick guitars blending Japanese and Swedish hardcore with emotional riffs and melodies, the sound quality is good. Really good stuff....
